17 has been haunting me for years. Like no other number or incidence. Table numbers, flight seat numbers, graffiti (the only) in majorly random places (like on a tree in the middle of the bush in Zambia no17), idenitification numbers, times, number plates, it's really tiresome. Wish I could know why this number just keeps coming up. I have shared this with close friends and family and even they are truly mystified and intrigued by the occurrence in my life. If I put fuel in my car it will end on seventeen liters or a digit like 25.17 liters poured, or the amount to pay will be $55.17 or $71.17 ...If I drive somewhere and stop, ODO will read a distance.17, or 17 ...It;s driving me up a wall. Would go to a restaurant with friends, they would choose a table, the restaurant is completely empty, table number is 17. Go to another restaurant a few years go, all table except one is available, table 17. Happened to be at a casino that night so I figured (as I'm not a gambler) to play roulette. Put $50 on number 17, one throw, and I won. Sick! I can't write on this blog how many times these things have happened to me...and continue on daily basis. My grandfather was born in 1917 and has the exact same name as me. His number at school in the boarding house was 17. So I figured some spiritual connection there but the incidences otherwise lead me away from this idea. There seem to be too many opinions on this to choose one which makes sense.
IMHO the number 17 Is a spiritual association with a loved one.
My Nan whom I lived with and loved very much was a sickly lady and tried to prepare me for her impending death.
I told her I could not accept this and she told me, I had no choice and I would have to learn to accept it. I asked how would I do this, she said I would see a sign and then I would accept it. Prior to days before she died, I started seeing the occurrence of the number 17. I didn't like what I was seeing. The day she died, and we got the call to goto the hospital, I looked at my watch and when I added up the date, it equaled 17, I thought OMG. We arrived at the hospital and she had passed. Prior to leaving the car, a weird feeling came over me, I looked at my watch and it was 7:10 pm. I thought, she died.
Sure enough when I asked the nurse what time she passed away. The nurse looked at the chart and said 7:10. It was an odd question for a 17 year old kid.
I accepted it as she was really sick and I was being selfish. I did not like it but I accepted it. 17 still follows me and I always look for its meaning.
My Nan always promised me, she would always be my Guardian Angel, even in after life. I truly believe that and no one can convince me otherwise.
She was born 1917.
