Gangster Dream

I dreamed I was standing in an empty, dingy walled apartment in a tough neighborhood.

There was shouting outside so I went to the window and looked to see what was happening. There were gangsters with red scarfs wrapped around their legs and heads. They were assaulting a female gang member really bad until she was lying unconscious in the street. The gang leader stood by watching and nodding his approval. Then he looked up at me. He stopped the assault on the girl, called one of the gangsters over and pointed to me. They looked up at me while the leader gave instructions. Then the subordinate gangster nodded his head and proceeded toward my building. I knew he was coming to kill me because I was a witness to the beating and possible murder of this girl.

I waited by the door until he came, and he broke the lock with a large switchblade. As soon as he opened the door, I poked my thumb in his eye. He backed off, holding his eye with one hand. I opened the door and watched as he went back down the flight of stairs moaning.

Then I woke up.

I have never had any gang affiliation, so I don’t know why I would have this type of dream. I have no idea of the meaning, if there is any.
