The number 114 seems to have played an important role in astronomical calculations of ancient peoples. There exists in Europe, at Sarmise Getusa Regia in Romania, the astronomical circles of which one comprises a total number of 114 stones. Some researchers believe that this one was used amongst other things to calculate the months and lunar years, as well as cycles of Mars and Jupiter conjunction.
