OK people, here is a fact of functionality: if you really want to know why do you see the number 42, you need to let go of anticipation and discover why that number is showing up and what is the message behind it without little or none preconception of the outcome because it's something new. Simply take a deep breath and relax, in that state visualize the number 42 in your mind and wait peacefully for something but nothing in particular, after that you will provably see that there is more than just a simple perception of what could be but what it really is. Good luck!

This strange number has been following me like many others. I truly thought it was just me. I never told anyone about it but it was a constant gasp here and there when I say it. Finally I started telling my friends and asking if they had anything similar. They were completely oblivious. Every response was the same, "No, never. That's weird." It wasn't till about a few months later, one by one they started telling me that ever since I told them about it, they started seeing it. Now they feel as if they are crazy and are seeing things. I felt better at first that finally I wasn't alone! Now it's constant questions on why, what does it mean, and you started seeing it first, why won't it go away. I don't think it is a bad thing, but it kind of just becomes a part of my daily life. It is as common to me as breathing now. Take it easy everyone.

Yes , I had the same problem but my friends still think im crazy ive been seeing it for about 4 years and theres nothing i do everysingle time i look at the clock its 11:42, not even that abut 6 houses i lives at was 42 and not until i noticed 42 i remembered those houses it creeps me out but like you said its like part of my life but i dont belive in good or bad luck so i dont know what it is when i see the number but, (Rivera) Pitches for the yankees and im a redsox fan his number is 42 and he dosent always beat us when he comes in the game so i know its not bad luck lol but this 42 thing is very intresting

42 haunts me! ?:42 all day everyday i see the time! on the microwave ?:42secs left to go. my son was born at 12:42. and i see it in the most random places, tv mag is 42p! why?!!omg its 23:42

a few months ago i looked at the clock and saw the number 42, and then the next time i looked at the clock it would say 42, that happened again and again and again and it still is. i was realy freaked out by it and the main reason i started researching the number was when my i looked on my friends ipod and listened to the song 42 by coldplay. the lyrics werevery interesting. i saw it in all kinds of places, like one time i woke up in the middle of the night and the clock said 4:42. another time in the mall, i kept seeing it every where. and there are tv shows with names that have the number 42 in them and also something about death.

hi , my name is alex , the same thing is happening to me , everytime i look at a clock its 42 mins past , for a strange reason since i was young ive always had an obsecion with this number , and if u add all the letters up in my name (alex) it makes 42 ! coincedence or somthing else ?

MOST PEOPLE WOULD NOT AGREE WITH ME, BUT MOST OF US HAS BEEN HERE BEFORE, WHILE FOR SOME IT IS THEIR VERY FIRST TIME. I AM 41 AND IT FIRST STARTED WITH SEEING 111 AND THEN 444 AND FOR A WHILE NOW , I HAVE BEEN SEEING 333 AND 42. SURE MY LIFE HAS BEEN A JOURNEY, SUCH JOURNEY THAT MOST PEOPLE WOULD NOT UNDERSTAND. MY OWN MOTHER COMPARES MY JOURNEY TO THE ONE OF JOB IN THE BIBLE. I HAVE SEEN IT ALL, AND I MEAN SEEN IT ALL.
HOWEVER, I DO BELIEVE THAT THIS NUMBERS HAVE GOT TO MEAN SOMETHING AND I THINK ONE SHOULD PAY PARTICULAR ATTENTION TO THE THOUGHTS GOING THROUGH OUR MINDS WHENEVER THIS NUMBER(S) POP UP, AND THAT WOULD GIVE US AN INSIGHT INTO WHAT IT MIGHT ACTUALLY MEAN...

I feel better knowing that a lot of other people keep seeing the number 42. For the past couple of months I have been seeing this number on everything! Clocks, the temperature, TV, etc. It started to frustrate me, so I decided to to some research on it.

A Son, a Male

The appointed time for the nations to rule without interruption by God came to an end in 1914. (Luke 21:24) Then, right on time, the woman bears her child: “And she gave birth to a son, a male, who is to shepherd all the nations with an iron rod. And her child was caught away to God and to his throne. And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she has a place prepared by God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and sixty days.” (Revelation 12:5, 6) The child is “a son, a male.” Why does John use this double expression? He does it to show the child’s suitableness, his competence for ruling the nations with adequate power. It also emphasizes how momentous, how joyous an occasion this birth is! It plays a key role in bringing the sacred secret of God to a finish. Why, this male child will even “shepherd all the nations with an iron rod”!

Now, does that expression sound familiar? Yes, Jehovah promised prophetically regarding Jesus: “You will break them with an iron scepter, as though a potter’s vessel you will dash them to pieces.” (Psalm 2:9) It was also prophesied regarding him: “The rod of your strength Jehovah will send out of Zion, saying: ‘Go subduing in the midst of your enemies.’” (Psalm 110:2) Therefore, the birth seen by John closely involves Jesus Christ. No, it is not Jesus’ being born of a virgin back before the first century of our Common Era; nor could it refer to Jesus’ being raised again to spirit life in 33 C.E. Furthermore, it is no transmigration. Rather, it is the birth of God’s Kingdom in 1914 as a reality, with Jesus—already in heaven for close to 19 centuries—now enthroned as King.—Revelation 12:10.

Never would Jehovah permit Satan to devour His wife or His newborn son! At birth, the male child is “caught away to God and to his throne.” He thus comes completely under the protection of Jehovah, who will take the fullest care of this newborn Kingdom, His instrument for sanctifying His holy name. At the same time, the woman flees to a place that God has prepared for her in the wilderness. More details on that later! As for Satan, the stage is now set for a momentous event that will make it utterly impossible for him ever again to threaten the Kingdom in heaven. What is that event?

War in Heaven!

John tells us: “And war broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels battled with the dragon, and the dragon and its angels battled but it did not prevail, neither was a place found for them any longer in heaven. So down the great dragon was hurled, the original serpent, the one called Devil and Satan, who is misleading the entire inhabited earth; he was hurled down to the earth, and his angels were hurled down with him.” (Revelation 12:7-9) So as a dramatic development in bringing the sacred secret of God to a finish, Satan is ejected, pitched out of heaven, and his demons are cast down to the earth with him. The one who has misled the entire inhabited earth to the extent of becoming its god is finally restricted to the vicinity of this planet, where his rebellion first began.—2 Corinthians 4:3, 4.

Who accomplish this great victory in Jehovah’s name? The Bible says it is Michael and his angels. But who is Michael? The name “Michael” means “Who Is Like God?” So Michael must be interested in vindicating Jehovah’s sovereignty by proving that no one is to be compared to Him. In Jude verse 9, he is called “Michael the archangel.” Interestingly, the title “archangel” is used elsewhere in the Bible with reference to only one person: Jesus Christ. Paul says of him: “The Lord himself will descend from heaven with a commanding call, with an archangel’s voice and with God’s trumpet.” (1 Thessalonians 4:16) The title “archangel” means “chief of the angels.” So it is not surprising that Revelation speaks of “Michael and his angels.” Other places where the Bible mentions angels subject to a righteous servant of God have reference to Jesus. Thus, Paul speaks of “the revelation of the Lord Jesus from heaven with his powerful angels.”—2 Thessalonians 1:7; see also Matthew 24:30, 31; 25:31.

These and other scriptures lead us to the inescapable conclusion that Michael is no one else but the Lord Jesus Christ in his heavenly position. Now, in the Lord’s day, he no longer merely says to Satan: “May Jehovah rebuke you.” Since this is a time of judging, Jesus, as Michael, hurls the wicked Satan and his demonic angels down from heaven. (Jude 9; Revelation 1:10) It is most fitting that He should be the One to do this, as He is the newly installed King. Jesus is also the Seed, promised back in Eden, who will ultimately crush the head of that original serpent, thus putting him out of existence for all time. (Genesis 3:15) By ejecting Satan from heaven, Jesus has moved toward that final crushing.

Since Satan’s catastrophic ouster, Christ’s brothers still on the earth have borne the brunt of his wrath. John reports: “Now when the dragon saw that it was hurled down to the earth, it persecuted the woman that gave birth to the male child. But the two wings of the great eagle were given the woman, that she might fly into the wilderness to her place; there is where she is fed for a time and times and half a time away from the face of the serpent.”—Revelation 12:13, 14.

Here the vision picks up the thought introduced in verse 6, which tells us that after the birth of her child, the woman flees into the wilderness, away from the dragon. We may wonder how the dragon can persecute the woman, since she is in heaven and the dragon has now been cast down to the earth. Well, remember that the woman has children here on earth, her seed. Later in this vision, we are informed that Satan expresses his rage toward the woman by persecuting her seed. (Revelation 12:17) What happens to the woman’s seed here on earth may be regarded as happening to the woman herself. (Compare Matthew 25:40.) And the growing number of companions of the seed here on earth would also experience these persecutions.

Two lines of evidence point to that year: (1) Bible chronology and (2) the events since 1914 in fulfillment of prophecy. Here we will consider the chronology. For fulfillment of prophecy, see the main heading “Last Days.”

Read Daniel 4:1-17. Verses 20-37 show that this prophecy had a fulfillment upon Nebuchadnezzar. But it also has a larger fulfillment. How do we know that? Verses 3 and 17 show that the dream that God gave to King Nebuchadnezzar deals with the Kingdom of God and God’s promise to give it “to the one whom he wants to . . . even the lowliest one of mankind.” The entire Bible shows that Jehovah’s purpose is for his own Son, Jesus Christ, to rule as His representative over mankind. (Ps. 2:1-8; Dan. 7:13, 14; 1 Cor. 15:23-25; Rev. 11:15; 12:10) The Bible’s description of Jesus shows that he was indeed “the lowliest one of mankind.” (Phil. 2:7, 8; Matt. 11:28-30) The prophetic dream, then, points to the time when Jehovah would give rulership over mankind to his own Son.

What was to happen in the meantime? Rulership over mankind, as represented by the tree and its rootstock, would have “the heart of a beast.” (Dan. 4:16) The history of mankind would be dominated by governments that displayed the characteristics of wild beasts. In modern times, the bear is commonly used to represent Russia; the eagle, the United States; the lion, Britain; the dragon, China. The Bible also uses wild beasts as symbols of world governments and of the entire global system of human rulership under the influence of Satan. (Dan. 7:2-8, 17, 23; 8:20-22; Rev. 13:1, 2) As Jesus showed in his prophecy pointing to the conclusion of the system of things, Jerusalem would be “trampled on by the nations, until the appointed times of the nations” were fulfilled. (Luke 21:24) “Jerusalem” represented the Kingdom of God because its kings were said to sit on “the throne of the kingship of Jehovah.” (1 Chron. 28:4, 5; Matt. 5:34, 35) So, the Gentile governments, represented by wild beasts, would ‘trample’ on the right of God’s Kingdom to direct human affairs and would themselves hold sway under Satan’s control.—Compare Luke 4:5, 6.

For how long would such governments be permitted to exercise this control before Jehovah gave the Kingdom to Jesus Christ? Daniel 4:16 says “seven times” (“seven years,” AT and Mo, also JB footnote on verse 13). The Bible shows that in calculating prophetic time, a day is counted as a year. (Ezek. 4:6; Num. 14:34) How many “days,” then, are involved? Revelation 11:2, 3 clearly states that 42 months (3 1/2 years) in that prophecy are counted as 1,260 days. Seven years would be twice that, or 2,520 days. Applying the “day for a year” rule would result in 2,520 years.

When did the counting of the “seven times” begin? After Zedekiah, the last king in the typical Kingdom of God, was removed from the throne in Jerusalem by the Babylonians. (Ezek. 21:25-27) Finally, by early October of 607 B.C.E. the last vestige of Jewish sovereignty was gone. By that time the Jewish governor, Gedaliah, who had been left in charge by the Babylonians, had been assassinated, and the remaining Jews had fled to Egypt. (Jeremiah, chapters 40-43) Reliable Bible chronology indicates that this took place 70 years before 537 B.C.E., the year in which the Jews returned from captivity; that is, it took place by early October of 607 B.C.E. (Jer. 29:10; Dan. 9:2; for further details, see the book “Let Your Kingdom Come,” pages 186-189.)

How, then, is the time calculated down to 1914? Counting 2,520 years from early October of 607 B.C.E. brings us to early October of 1914 C.E., as shown on the chart.

CALCULATING THE “SEVEN TIMES”

“Seven times” = 7 X 360 = 2,520 years

A Biblical “time,” or year = 12 X 30 days = 360. (Rev. 11:2, 3; 12:6, 14)

In the fulfillment of the “seven times” each day equals one year. (Ezek. 4:6; Num. 14:34)

Early October, 607 B.C.E., to December 31, 607 B.C.E.= 1/4 year

January 1, 606 B.C.E., to December 31, 1 B.C.E. = 606 years

January 1, 1 C.E., to December 31, 1913 = 1,913 years

January 1, 1914, to early October, 1914 = 3/4 year

Total: 2,520 years

thats so insane.... 42 has been following me and my boyfriend for like 3 years now... its quite the good luck good riddance number. anytime im nervous about a situation, driving in the dark, alone just scared anything... i'll se 42 and it takes all fear away. it's weird and has never failed me..i must tattoo it!

I really thought i was the only one that this happend to its insane how much i see/hear this number ever snice i can rember this number (42) has played a huge part in my life but for it to happen to so many people makes me think alot....about this number and what it means and y it would follow so many people around like this?? oh and i do have it tattoed lol but people think its becos of "42 below vodka??"

this is kinda weird but i have the number 42 following me every time i look at the clock it is something 42 and as im driveing i will look at a random licence plate and it has the number 42

2012 prophecy

I started seing 42 about a year ago, when i fell in love with this veery wierd rastaman who owns a bar who's name contains 42 and it is situated on a road at the number 42. Since i started going to that place, strange things started appearing and happening to me, things that connect in a very wierd way to things from my past going even 15 years ago. This year i have become very aware of my spiritual nature and very interested in all 2012 prophecies and now, reading that so many people have a thing with this number, i am sure it has something to do with the big shift that's comming sooner or later.

The 42-Letter name is an "infamous" unknown name of God; much like YHVH, which appears in numerous places.

the 216-Letter name (or 72-Triad name) is the "Ultimate" name of god. From what i've read it seems to be a combination every possible description/definition of God himself.

Numbers 33 stops and consumes most of an entire chapter just to record the names of the places Israel journeyed...

Why is this info recorded? On and on for 42 places? Do these names have any spiritual significance? Yes. In fact they hold the keys to understanding several important issues:

Our personal spiritual growth - The symbolic meaning of these stages contain an ENORMOUS amount of practical advice on how to live our lives in our modern world today!



Num 33:3-5 LEAVING REAMSES FOR SUKKOT

A 42 month period of tribulation begins in Revelation chapter 12. Rev 11:8 says Jerusalem is "figuratively called Sodom and Egypt". The woman in the wilderness of Revelation 12 leaves Jerusalem (or wherever else she is) to go to the wilderness as Satan is cast out of the heavenly realm.
While Israel was at Sukkot, Exodus 13:1-16 gives the regulation of the firstborn males. In Revelation 12, we see the woman giving birth to a male child.



NUM 33:6 ETHAM

Etham means "with them", and Revelation 12 describes how Satan is cast to earth where men live and is now "with them" in a very physical way, even to setup a Government on earth. He will control the earth through this "beast". In the wilderness pattern, the stage of Etham deals with sin being with us and also Elohim being with us at the same time. Satan being physically on earth parallels the way the 42 stage pattern deals with this stage to speak to us of how sin is with us.



NUM 33:7 PI HACHIROTH

Pi means "mouth". HaChiroth means "wrath", and in Rev 12:14-15, Satan unleashes his wrath (HaChiroth) against the woman in the wilderness by casting something out of his mouth (pi), paralleling how Pharoah unleashed his wrath against Israel by pursuing Israel when they camped at Pi HaChiroth. But "the earth helped the woman" (Rev 12:16), just as the Red Sea parted for Israel. This is history repeating itself by a G-d who "makes known the end from the beginning" (Isa 46:10).

Pharoah died in the sea, but the Beast of Rev 13:1-3 is described as having a fatal wound, but rising out of the sea from the dead - as if to pick up where Pharaoh left off! Moses shouted the famous "Who is like You...?" (Exodus/Shemot 15:11 - Mi Kamochah a well sung Jewish song) when praising his Maker after Pharaoh died, but people are shouting "Who is like the beast...?" when he rises from the sea that Pharaoh drowned in! Once again, it is history repeating itself, but not in the best of ways!




NUM 33::8 MARAH

Marah means "bitterness" or "rebellion," and in Rev 13:5-6, the beast is described as rebelling against the Most High.




NUM 33:9 EILIM

Eilim means "their leader", and in Rev 13:7, the beast takes over the whole world and becomes "their leader" (Eilim).

One could go on and on like this.....and the amazing book The 42 Journeys... does Its a fascinating study to see how strongly the events in the final 42 months of Revelation chapters 12 through 16 parallel the Wilderness journey verse by verse, even by event, to the point that Revelation uses the same symbolism as the 42 stage journey. You will understand the symbolism in Revelation much better when you see the keys to understanding it in the way it draws on the use of the same symbols in the Wilderness story! You'll be amazed to know that the keys to understanding its symbolism was there right under your nose the whole time! In fact, when this pattern gets to the mark of the beast, you'll be amazed to see how much information the 42 Journey pattern sheds on that topic.


But that's not the only 42 Journey Pattern in Prophecy. You'll also see how the 42 journeys are fulfilled in yet another prophetic pattern that begins in the Garden of Eden and stretches forth to today and into the book of Revelation. All of our Creator's dealing with the nations - the flood, the Tower of Babel, the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, all the way up to the death of Messiah and the scattering of Israel in 70 AD are foretold in the 42 journey pattern. You'll see Messiah's return in the 42 journey pattern, and you'll see that there are still 4 stages left to be fulfilled before Messiah returns. Do these stages give us clues as to what will happen before Yeshua returns to earth? Perhaps so, but you have to study the basic pattern to learn what it has to say!


The 42 Journey pattern appears many places in Scripture. It was the thematic outline of Psalms 22, 23 and 24, and you'll see HOW it was interweaves into the poetry of these Psalms, giving us a picture of what would come in the future, as well as record God plan of salvation in a most fascinating manner.

the number is out of control, its been in my life 4 the past 3 years. i went off about it 4 awhile, then over time left it alone. lately my recent girlfriend has been seeing it ever since we got together 5 monthes ago, it has her now 2 i believe..
i one day looked up the word fortitude 4 fun and it does give a very interesting definition.. ones own destiny, or as i 4 some reason felt, something 2 do with death. will see what the future has in store 4 us..

It started when my football team Collingwood had a player in it, that was killed in an accident. He wore number 42. I like others, see the number everywhere. 42 Kms in a marathon, Crazy John was 42 when he died. Heaps of other stuff is related to 42.

I have a habit of seeing 42 in the oddest places. At my last job, in the public closet, there was a pipe with a tag that had 42 on it. When I applied for college recently, the envelope containing my information was labeled with a 42. I'm 24 now, the house I'm moving to in Washington State is 4828. 42 pages in the booklet for my favorite game, and other than that, I always see a 42 somewhere during my day without even looking for it. It really is a special number for me, but I cant figure out why.

I keep having dreams about number 42.. and now it has started following me!
Wiki has some good pop culture references. In Douglas Adams' The Hitchikers guide to the Galaxy, '42' is the meaning of life. Level 42, the band, got their name from the then fictional band mentioned in a Clockwork Orange.
I don't know what this number means for me but there must be a reason it keeps appearing in dreams. Hmm :)
