october ten

I had a pretty powerful experience 10 years ago this October 10, 2010. I had come to a place in my life where I almost no longer believed in God. My heart was very heavy and in despair. With whatever little faith I had left that day, I prayed and asked God to show me that He indeed existed.

What took place was nothing short of amazing, phenomenal and life changing.

While praying in Jesus name, I was compelled to count certain things- things that up until that day, I had no clue that they equaled 10.

( my story is actually pretty long, so here is just the key points )

-It is 10 miles from ( what was ) a popular hang out ( for me and my GF at the time ) up a near mountain road, to her house.

-My name *Juan Carlos* has 10 letters in it. ( I honestly had no clue of this until then )

-My girl friend's name ( at that time ) had 10 letters in it also.

-I had a total of 10 Playstation games on that day.

-There was a total of 10 pictures/images of Christ and/or the Virgin Mary ( I grew up Catholic ) in my house that day.

-If all these weren't enough to convince me of all Mighty God, it occurred to me that it was October 10 that day. ( 10 10 )

The emotions and feelings and love I felt that day renewed me.

This was no coincidence. I believe God is so amazing and perfect and able of anything and everything. I really understood that day the meaning of "God works in mysterious ways".

The number 10 has been a staple in my life and a daily reminder that my life matters to a higher being. Jesus loves me... loves us.

Anyways, if all that wouldn't ever be enough. Over the years I've figured out a few other facts

-The words October Ten equal 10.
-My name starts with a "J"... yup, that's the 10th letter in the alphabet.
-On 10/10/10, it will be 10 years since this happen. ( I really had not caught on to that until a few years after! )

*There's been other times in the last 10 years, that the number 10 has come up in one way or another when life has gotten a little rough. I consider them nice little reminders from God*

Anyways, without having to mention it- I've always been intrigued by this number. I guess part of me thinks there is yet more to it. I guess I'll see. While searching yet again facts about the number 10, I came across this site and decided to share my story with anyone who comes across this site, or with others who have a thing about the number 10.
