A nice site. But I am always disappointed when I see that someone apparrently doesn't have a clue what Rev 13:18 is referring to. Or at least if you do you are sure keeping it to yourself. Let me help you. I would suggest that you begin leaving the modern interpretations alone. The only ones that make 110% sense come from the commentaries and thoughts of the early Christians up through the mid 19th Cent.
First of all, nowhere in Rev. is the word antichrist used. Rev. 13:18 is not referring to THE Antichrist. There is no such thing. Rev 13:18 refers to The Beast.
There are several classic references which go into great detail about the prophecies of Daniel/Revelation, which both go hand in hand and refer to much the same events. Suffice it to say that we have known for about 1800 years who or rather what the Beast has been.
Let me put it this way, almost every sentence and detail on Daniel/Revelation is easily identifiable. We know that The Beast is a SYSTEM of religion which has tried to take over every aspect of man's life, demanding absolute loyalty to men rather than God. It has murdered millions of Christians who refused to bow to IT.
And, now of course, here in the late 20th/early 21st centuries, we know for certain who The False Prophet is. IT is another system of religion which is killing christians again and is NOW trying to take over the world like the Beast before it tried.
The False Prophet and The Beast are both religious systems! You can identify the beast by looking for the number 666 in the name of the position he holds and has held for many centuries. Vicarius Filei Dei = 666
The False Prophet is Islam!
Like I said find some good OLD commentaries and expositions from the great Christian minds. There was a lot written, some of it in GREAT DETAIL about The Beast and False prophet.
How right you are about the antichrist, ti simply mean the beast, which if you study it, it will denote flesh and the system of the doctrine of men, not our Lord Jesus Christ, He tells us to come up hither, but some folks can't grasp that He's really saying to study to show yourslfe proved. So I agree with you too. God Bless!
