Strange dream about 144

A couple days ago I had a vivid dream that has stayed on my mind. Tonight I googled 144 as I have been unable to shake the feeling that there is more to the symbolism than I am able to sift out at present. My dream starts out with familiar family and friends in relatively normal surroundings. A soccer game and gathering of some sort are going on in a large grassy area. There are two mountain lions in the same place. A woman I am friends with in real life who adopts many pets has brought them there. She is there and unafraid of them but they are not under her control or chained. I am wary of them but not really afraid. My dog is also in my dream. He is a shepherd and red heeler mix. In my dream it is almost like he is herding them. He keeps himself between them and me. I am worried that my children will try to pet them but as long as the dog is with them they are safe and don't get too close. His fur is red gold and bright against the green grass. I am watching my son play soccer until dark when I realize there are 144 people on the lawn and there are not enough plates for everyone to eat. I grab all of my glass plates from my kitchen and distribute them to the first of the strangers. I realize I have lost sight of my dog and the lions are still in the middle of the crowd. I go looking for more plates and think I see my dog enter a building. I enter only to find a man who for an instant looks as if he is wearing a coat made of fur the same color as my dogs (I do not think it was my dog's, I had the sense he had only passed through this area), but at second look he has on a dress coat over pajamas. I have a brief conversation with the man that I cannot remember and he then throws his coat off and strides down the aisle. At this point I realize I am in a church or cathedral. There is a dim light such as moonlight coming through the stained glass windows that light up the interior. People are sleeping on both sides of an aisle in sleeping bags or blankets. I do not see children only adults. The light is dull and I am suddenly frightened. I am sure that my dog must be with my children and I rush out the door to go back to the grass where I last saw them. The sense of urgency and importance lingers when I wake up. The number 144 while seemingly insignificant in the dream remains loud in my head. The lions and their imminent but sleeping threat. And the dog acting as protector. I am not a diviner of dreams but I do not recall such dreams often and I feel there is a puzzle there for me. Any thoughts?
