The Mark is Literal

We all need to be looking for the Holy Ghost to live through us, as for those who dont believe His sheep know His voice. You were called to be free, but do not use your freedom to indulge the sinful nature rather serve one another in love.

The mark of the beast is spiritual. Buying means 'acquire for oneself', and selling means to alienate. Buying/acquiring falsities by selling/alienating/separating oneself from Jesus. The true followers of Christ are 'bought/acquired' at a price, by alienating/separating themselves from sin. Note: The falsity is 'bought' by oneself, but the truth is 'acquired' by Christ for us. This means that a true Christian does nothing but obey the instructions given by God. A Christian living a lie disregards God's teachings and depend on their own understanding. Most surprising thing is that these lost Christians think they are serving God, but they are not. For example. Many are called to serve The Lord, but they run ahead and start teaching, thinking they are doing God a favor and they tell themselves that they are helping to 'win souls' for Christ, when all they are doing is deceiving by teaching from their own understanding. In several occasions, Jesus said that He only did and said everything The Father told Him to do or say. Its no wonder that everybody now is calling themselves 'prophets'; Yes they have the calling, but they 'sell/trade' what they have been given instead of guarding it by obeying the law of the covenant which is Love. The parable of talents has been misinterpreted by almost everybody, and it is easy to think that the servant who hid the talent he had received was the bad one, whereas it is quite the opposite. Those who traded actually exchanged/sold what they had received and 'acquired' something very different altogether. When the master returned, they were made to give what they had to the servant who had the one that he had hid. When you reach this part of scripture, note the 'Lord', and 'lord' (capital 'L' and small 'l'). Also note 'ability' instead of abilities. The message is, we should guard our faith and salvation promise and not allow anyone to take it from us through deceit. I hope I make sense. :-)
