Properties of the number 83
Gematria
By using the correspondence a=1, b=2, c=3, ..., z=26, we find that the following French words "lumière" (light), "treize" (thirteen), "Arche de Dieu" (Ark of God), "Sainte-Face" (the Holy Face) and the two expressions "Dieu est" (God is) and "Je suis" (I am) add up each one 83 as numerical value. Just as "the bread" written in Hebrew gives 83: he, lamed, heth, mem; 5+30+8+40=83. Also "the Son of God" in Hebrew, "ha-ben YHWH", gives 83=57+26.
Occurrence
The number 83 is used 1 time in the Bible.
By 83 times in the NT Jesus is called the "Son of the Man".
