Properties of the number 1000

Symbolism

• Symbol of multitude.

• Evoke a very long time according to the Bible. It is often used also to specify an indefinite quantity.

• The Fathers of the Church saw in the number 1000 "the totality of the generations and the perfection of the life".

• Have a paradisiac meaning, it is the immortality of the happiness.

• According to the Talmudic tradition, thousand is the symbol of the imperishable doctrine.

Bible

• The two witnesses of the Revelation have the power among others to strike the whole world of 1000 plagues. (Rv 11,6)

• The reign of a thousand years in the Revelation. (Rv 20)

• In some biblical translations other than the Bible of Jerusalem, it is written that if anyone requires you to walk 1000 steps, walk 2000 steps with him. (Mt 5,41)

• For its punishment, a city of 1000 men will be reduced to 100. (Am 5,3)

• The increase of 1 to 1000 will characterize the Messianic time. (Is 60,22)

• Whether your life lasts ten or a hundred or a thousand years, its length will not be held against you in Sheol. (Si 41,7)

• In the Tower of David are suspended 1000 bucklers. (Sg 4,4)

• The fruit of the vineyard of Solomon would cost 1000 shekels of silver. (Sg 8,11)

• Thousand years are like one day. (Ps 84,11)

• The alliance that God concludes with Abraham was valid for 1000 generations. (Ps 105,8)

• It is on the altar of Gibeon where Solomon offered 1000 holocausts that he asked God to give him the wisdom. (1 K 3,4)

• David is established by Saul chief of 1000 men. (1 S 18,13)

• We count 1000 persons who perish in the citadel of Shechem. (Jg 9,49)

• Samson killed 1000 men with a jawbone of a donkey. (Jg 15,16)

• Abimelech gives to Abraham 1000 pieces of money in compensation. (Gn 20,16)

General

• One day the Christ told to saint Brigitte of Sweden, who lived from 1303 to 1373: "My daughter, the one who, with will and faith, reads these five words: «Jesus, have mercy of me», pleases me more than the one who read abstractedly thousand verses of the Bible."

• It is the number of years that should have lived Adam if he had not sinned. According to the Bible, it would be dead at the age of 930 years old (Gn 5,4).

• The thousand guardian angels that had the Virgin Mary in the beginning her terrestrial life: 900 ordinary angels (100 of each chorus), 12 other angels in the corporal form, 18 ambassador angels and 70 seraphs, according to the visions of Mary Agreda.

• An eastern ritual dating of 700 years after J.-C. describes Manjusri which has 1000 arms, holding 1000 bowls, each one containing 1000 sakyamuni.

• In the mathematical base seven, 1000 is the number following 666, the number of the Beast of the Revelation.

Gematria

• Annick of Souzenelle points out that Raphael, in Hebrew, is translated by the "divine doctor" and that Raph, is the "doctor" having as numerical value 1000 = 200 + 800, that is to say "the reconquered unit with the recovery".

• The numerical value of Hebrew word QTz meaning "the end", and ThM meaning complete or perfect, gives each one 1000.

Occurrence

• The number 1000 is used 94 times in the Bible - 84 times in the OT and 10 times in the NT.

• The number 1000 is used 4 times in the Koran. (Koran VIII,66, VIII,67, XXII,46 and XCVII,3)

Fascinated about: “In the mathematical base seven, 1000 is the number following 666, the number of the Beast of the Revelation.” Nothing is coincidence. In revelation – the event take place where the beast (666) went 1st then put in chains for 1000 years before it will be released so to be defeated and thrown in the lake of fire where the false prophet is. Thanks for the other info’s… even when I was a child I was fascinated by this number. Not 1001… 1032… nor any digit beyond that or lower...Just don’t know why!^^

1000 is a perfect rain. Like how long someone rules. In hebrew it doesnt mean satin rained for 1000 years. Just like the number 40 doesn't always mean 40 that's a time of complition.

1000 is the same as one = Perfection
The 1000 yrs of peace takes place at great tribulation!
The 1st resurrection takes place at great tribulation. Only a remnant will be resurrected during great tribulation. True peace is not based on circumstances around you or outside forces. True peace comes from w/in from God being one w/God.

2Pe 3:8But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
