37 everywhere

For many years now, I've seen the number 37 show up in my life, but I could never figure out why. For the most part, I figured it was just random, that each of us has a lucky number of some sort we gravitate towards. Last night however, I attended a spiritual circle on Long Island, and met a man who studies numerology quite a bit. He referred me to websites online, and after clicking through a few other links, I found this page.

As a writer, I decided to make 37 God's number throughout the religious fiction series I wrote a few years back. I made each of the three books exactly 37 chapters long, and I wove the number 37 throughout the books in lots of obvious and not-so-obvious ways.

At some point in that process, I thought of the number 666, Satan's number, and realized 37 could also be understood as three seven, or 777. But here on this page for the very first time, I learned that 37 x 18 is 666, and of course 6 + 6 + 6 is 18. Rather than be spooked by this, however, I rejoice in it! God's number and Lucifer's number intertwine beautifully, as it turns out. Even math agrees!

Another aha came a few minutes ago, when I started musing about the various spiritual decorations my friend Laura features all around her house. "Wasn't there a spiritual symbol that looks something like a 3?" I thought, and that's when I saw it. The om. The om itself, depending on how it's written, resembles a stylized 37. A stretch, perhaps, but I saw it clearly.

I still have so much more to learn, but today my eyes are wide open! Thank you to the creator(s) of this site, and to all my fellow souls worldwide who see the 37 as often as I do. I feel much less alone than I did before, and it is glorious!
