Damaris mean dominant woman, of great stature, high standing and substance. In the Bible she would have been of great high standing to have been at any public meeting, let along a meeting of the most educated men in the city of Athens; as women were not allowed to attend meetings or even be in public in those days. She also was a very wise woman in the face of the rest of the crowd mocking Paul for trying to teach about Yeshua the Messiah, for she received the message of salvation that day! I love my name Damaris because is from the Bible and also my father told me that I was so named because the Sunday text following my birth was from Acts 17: 22-34 where the name Damaris is only woman mentioned as the one of the persons who accepted Christ after Paul preached in Athens at the Areopagus.
My name is Damaris...i didn't like the name...i thought it was awful name...because people seldom pick the name as their name...
Now...i think my name is quite beautiful,,since it was a name taken from Bible...In addition, my boyfriend always greets me with that name...not my nick name...I wonder who she was in the past...she must be wonderful person..

My teacher in my church said that there wuz a king name king damaris but it is also a women and I hope the pass it all around till the world ends
1st I was thinking my name is damaris and iam the only person that has my name and my techer said that my name was a queens name in the bible wowoowowoowowow
i thougt that i w as the only one that has this name but i fould out that people has my name i hope people get my name so it could spread all around the world
My name became an wonderful experience because when i was 7 years old i was told that my name came out of the holy bible and i was so happy and hope people pass down the name to their children
